Key called for a Clannad Anniversary Painting Solicitation. The chosen ones can get a free copy of the Clannad 10th Anniversary Memorial Book (7000+ yen). I knew I couldn’t make it, but why not give it a try. I decided to submit the best painting I could do at that moment simply because I love Clannad.

I spent a total of 3 months on the painting. Many pro illustrators gave me a lot of advice. I learned how to draw hair, eyes, clothes, different lighting conditions, and so on. I found the perfect way for me to learn painting: do large projects and focus on a single illustration. I know I am supposed to daily practice and start with the basics. However, I don’t have enough motivation for that. I just enjoy the procedure of producing one illustration gradually and learn new things from that.
